Google Data Connector for Salesforce

Google Data Connector for Salesforce is a tool that facilitates integration between Google Sheets and Salesforce. With it, users can import Salesforce data into Google Sheets for analysis, reporting, or visualization.

This integration also allows for data updates from the sheets to Salesforce, and automatic refreshes every 4, 8 or 24 hours. Additionally, users can leverage Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL) to pull specific datasets, providing a more tailored approach to data extraction. This seamless integration enhances data accessibility and collaboration, enabling teams to work more efficiently with real-time data updates.

What sets Xappex G-Connector apart?

Automation

Google Data Connector for Salesforce allows for automatic refreshes of data. However, push operations cannot be scheduled for automatic execution. Available frequency for refreshes is 4, 8 or 24 hours.

G-Connector offers the possibility to schedule any operation as frequently as once an hour. There are multiple options of frequency to select from. It’s possible to schedule each tab separately at different times. Offline users can edit a spreadsheet in the field, then sync with Google when online. The automatic push operations will kick in on the schedule and push any changes to Salesforce.

Data Management in Bulk

Google Data Connector for Salesforce has a limit of 10000 records when importing data, which makes it less convenient for users who have to deal with large numbers of records. Moreover, for bulk updating records, users need to define the records’ IDs, adding complexity to the process of identifying and modifying records when they do not have that information at hand.

G-Connector, on the other hand, doesn’t impose any restrictions as to the number of records one can work with. This makes it the tool of choice when working with large reports and substantial amounts of data. Besides, G-Connector has a built-in functionality of looking up record Ids based on their names, which comes in handy when users don’t have an ID column when having to update records.

Reporting

Google Data Connector for Salesforce enables users to pull Salesforce data into a familiar spreadsheet environment. The connector supports scheduled data refreshes every 4, 8 or 24 hours, ensuring that the information in Google Sheets is always up-to-date with the latest Salesforce reports. However, it has a limited customization in terms of how data will look in the spreadsheet.

G-Connector offers several advantages when it comes to exporting a Salesforce report. Users can edit report filters in Salesforce as well as locally. Its ability to connect to multiple Salesforce orgs enhances user’s experience since they can retrieve and compare data along their different instances. What’s more, users can manage the position of the report in the spreadsheet, create drop-downs in picklist columns, freeze headers and more. G-Connector also provides integration with Accounting Seed, which makes it a wonderful tool for creating financial reports. In addition, its flexibility in terms of frequency of automations and its user-friendly interface ensures that G-Connector stands out in comparison with other data management tools.

SOQL

Google Data Connector for Salesforceallows users to pull data from Salesforce into Google Sheets using Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL) queries. This functionality enables users to extract specific data sets by crafting precise queries, filtering, sorting, and aggregating data based on various criteria. By importing the queried data directly into Google Sheets, users can manipulate, visualize, and analyze the information in a familiar environment. This capability streamlines data management by reducing manual data transfers and enabling real-time data updates, which is particularly beneficial for dynamic and complex data analysis and reporting.

On the other hand, G-Connector offers a superior experience for pulling SOQL queries into Google Sheets. G-Connector not only supports the same querying capabilities as the Google Salesforce Connector but also provides enhanced features such as advanced filtering, scheduling, and automation. Also, G-Connector doesn’t impose any limits as to the number of records that can be imported. These additional functionalities allow users to set up automated data refreshes and more complex data manipulations without manual intervention. G-Connector is also known for its reliability and performance, handling larger datasets more efficiently and securely. Its robust interface and enhanced security features ensure that data is transferred safely, making G-Connector a more powerful and efficient tool for integrating Salesforce data with Google Sheets.

Snapshot reporting

Google Data Connector for Salesforce does not offer an option to analyze historical data. Users would need to create new sheets each time they refresh a report to be able to keep track of all changes in their report’s data.

G-Connector has a built-in feature to automatically create snapshots of the data on a desired frequency, and save each snapshot to a selected folder in the user’s Google Drive.

Refresh modes

Google Data Connector can only refresh the connected report by overwriting the old data with the new one.

G-Connector, on the other hand, is capable of refreshing the data in 3 different modes:

  • Overwrite (similar to Google Data Connector)
  • Append (appending all new data to existing data)
  • New Sheet (creating a new tab for each data refresh)

Notifications

Google Data Connector for Salesforce provides no features for notifying users’ team members after refreshing a spreadsheet. Users would need to check on refreshes and manually notify their teams if they desire to do so.

On the contrary, G-Connector offers users the opportunity to schedule notifications to be sent via email, Slack or Chatter, and includes extra features such as defining conditions for when the notifications should be triggered or attaching the file as PDF, XLSX or Google drive link.

API integrations

Google Data Connector only works via Salesforce Bulk API.
G-Connector can work either through Salesforce Bulk or SOAP API, adjustable on the license level or through settings. SOAP API support makes it possible for the tool to work with Salesforce Professional and Group editions licenses.

Integration to other Google Platforms

G-Connector facilitates effortless syncing of information, streamlining workflows and enhancing productivity. G-Connector lets users pull files from Salesforce to a specified Google Drive folder directly from the spreadsheet, or to upload files saved in Google Drive to Salesforce as attachments. This can be done by creating a query to pull attachments or inserting attachment records. No need to move outside Google Sheets anymore!

What’s more, users can work with Google Forms and have the collected data automatically sent to Salesforce. With this integration, G-Connector revolutionizes data management and collaboration. Seamlessly linking Salesforce with these Google platforms.
